Mr. Valdrighi, or "Mr. V" grew up in both Richmond and nearby Mathews County, Virginia. He received his B.A. in History and Education from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. He taught Social Studies and coached football, girl's basketball and track at Patrick Henry High School in Hanover County for 1 year before making his home in Lancaster County. Mr. V taught social studies and coached varsity soccer from 1989-1999. He also served as Administrative Assistant, Head Football coach and Athletic Director while at Lancaster High School. His soccer teams won 4 Regional Championships, were Regional Runners-up 4 times, and Northern Neck District Champions 7 times in 10 years. Mr. V completed his M.Ed from Virginia Commonwealth University in Administration and Supervision in 2000. Also in 2000, Mr. V became Assistant Principal of Essex High School in Tappahannock, Virginia. He also coached soccer his first year there, leading the Essex Varsity Soccer team to a 10-4 record and 2nd place district finish, their best record since 1986. He is the Northern Neck District's All-time leader in soccer wins with an overall record of 148-48-4 and is ranked in the Top 10 in career victories in Virginia High School Coaches Association. In 2007, Mr. V was inducted into the Northern Neck Sports Wall of Fame. In 2004, Mr. V became principal of Middlesex High School in Saluda, VA and by 2008 Middlesex High School was both fully accredited and had made AYP. Mr. V has also held positions with Rappahannock Community College's Workforce Development Office and he is currently completing his doctoral degree in School Leadership and Policy Studies from George Washington University. Mr. V and his wife Lisa were married in 1991 and have 2 children, Shawn and Rachel. They reside in Weems, VA. Mr. V is an avid Washington Redskins fan, loves to golf, likes county music, travelling on family mini-vacations, collecting sports memorabilia, and spending time outdoors.
